Schedule Highlights

• Keynote with Will Allen of Growing Power! Good Food Revolution - The Power of Community Agriculture.  Urban farmer Will Allen's vision is to inspire communities to build sustainable food systems that are equitable and ecologically sound, creating a just world, one food-secure community at a time.  We are honored to host one of TIME Magazine's top 100 most influential change agents of our times! 
  

• Kurt Hoelting, author of Circumference of Home, will offer Friday's keynote workshop on the adventure of rising up to meet environmental challenges, celebrating your place and meeting your needs within a 100 mile radius from home.

• Port Townsend Change Agents: Menu for the Future and Bringing Farmers to the Table - We'll look at what happens if you create 25 small groups to discuss food values and issues, and include a local farmer or food producer in each one? Innovative organizers Judy Alexander, Dick Bergeron and Peter Bates facilitated the “Menu for the Future” groups to support local farmers and educate eaters. Results? Eaters changed their food choices, and the market for local food products expanded. 
  

• Maureen Jack La Croix from BE THE CHANGE Earth Alliance: Learn about Be the Change Action Guides and how to use them to empower community action.

• Permaculture and Edible Landscape workshop: Learn how to grow food in your yard/home
  

• WSU Farm Tour: Featuring Jefferson County Farms: For those able to stay Sunday afternoon, visit local sustainable farms and learn how Port Townsend is becoming a national example in local, sustainable food.  For more info:  www.wsufarmtour.com
